Experience

Wellington Lawyer Andrew Cameron is a senior litigator whose practice includes criminal and public law areas as well as general civil litigation.

Andrew was Crown Solicitor at Whanganui since 1990, where he was responsible for the prosecution of major jury trials and for the conduct of Crown litigation generally within his district. Andrew resigned as Crown Solicitor in February 2008 to move to Wellington and has continued his work for the Crown, including advising and appearing for the Department of Conservation and the New Zealand Transport Agency in particular. He is on the Crown Prosecution Panel in Wellington.

In addition to his Crown practice, Andrew has developed a substantial public law practice.

He has more than 25 years experience acting for local authorities, government departments, public bodies and other significant private and corporate clients as an environmental lawyer. Andrew provides advice in respect of a range of statutes including the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act, Public Works Act, Reserves Act and related legislation.

Andrew has advanced litigation, negotiation and mediation skills. He has a proven ability to work with consultants from a wide range of disciplines (including issues relevant to tangata whenua), and manage major project work and litigation.

Andrew has been affiliated with Brookfields Lawyers since 2008.
